Moving to California with My 2020 Subaru Outback

California requires that you register your vehicle within 10 days of "permanently" moving here or obtaining employment; unless your employment is factually on a temporary basis.

If you're in California for temporary work, you may keep your out-of-state registration. Just ensure your vehicle's tags are current with the its current registration state.

Should you choose to registered your vehicle in CA, you'll surrender the vehicle's current out-of-state license plate(s) and pink slip, and be issued two (2) new California plates and a new California Certificate of Title.

Your Subaru will also need a VIN verification check which must be conducted by the California Highway Patrol or an authorized VIN verification agency.
